This song makes me want to get up and dance my pants off  Badly Drawn Boy is my new discovery :)

I went to St. Mary’s today to pick up my year book and get a ticket to the school play; y’know, just for old time’s sake :D It was queer being there cause I haven’t been back in awhile and I’m not a high schooler and I kinda wish I was again  Ya, I know. I’m a loser. I didn’t get my yearbook though. The teacher in charge of them (Zamprin) was on a field trip today; how shitty is that? Boo-fucking-urns.

I’ve been trying to think of ways to promote the boards, but I’m not quite sure. I suppose one big plug should do well; please go join it and post, folks. It’s a nice little board and I would love it for my sake and for Amber’s that it became successful!

Plug time! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! TB Boards! Quick Blog

Akasha on Mar 28th 2004

Just recapping my weekend, for my sake, if not for anyone else’s :) I had two night shifts this weekend (the second one was last night). Last night was definitely the worst of the two. We had nothing clean by the time we shut down at 4am and there were a lot of assholes coming through. There was one especially who came through; he was a cab driver and he had a cab full of these bitchy girls. Honestly, they were all piled in like sardines; there were two in the passenger seat and like four in the back. For some reason, some people are incapable of getting their order through coherently. This cab was one of them. By the time they got to my window their orders had been on the screen for 600 seconds. The average car gets through in about 90. That’s a big difference. When they got to my window (I was in the second booth, giving the food out) they sat their, going through everything and began to complain that they hadn’t received all of their food. We had put everything that was on the screen into the bags, there was nothing more that they had orderered or paid for. I tried to tell the cabbie this, but he wouldn’t have any of it. He kept talking to me as though I were an idiot, which I’m not; he was just an asshole.

In the end, I gave them all of the food they wanted so they could get the hell out of my drive thru. Ugh, I hate assholes.

I’m thinking of starting a movie review blog .. each time I come here to blog I want to talk about the recent movie I’ve seen :P Last Thursday I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I loved it. It was such a good love story. I figured out the twist in the end though about twenty minutes into the movie, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Anyway, once I make my movie review blog, I’ll post the link and you can check out the review there :) I’m off to finish a couple of fanlistings and get my butt to bed!

I’ve been busy this week; my finals are coming up in less than two weeks and I’m starting to get a tad stressed out. Plus, I have three essays due right before exams begin so I’m not going to have much time in between writing those suckas and my exams. At least, by the end of April I can say I’m finally finished my first year of university, though :P It’ll be a good day in my book. Then I can really start working my butt off to pay for Italy next year.

I had a night shift last night; it was long and arduous and this morning I went over to the synagogue to help my mother with a kiddish she needed to set up for the congregants. This was at around 6:30 this morning. She asked me to set up the plates and cutlery and stuff and once I was finished she told me to go home and get to sleep. At quarter to 12 later this morning I get awakened by my father, roaring about not getting up to help my mother. I was totally baffled by this cause I knew that I had gone over before going to bed. When I got to the synagogue, disheveled and upset that I had been yelled at, my mother apologizes and tells me my father was supposed to be the one going to the synagogue, not me. He had pawned his work off on me :O  BLAHHHHHH, fucking asshole. Most of the time I can stand my father, but not when he’s a stubborn prick who acts like a fucking child. He made me so angry this morning. So FUCKING ANGRY BLAHHHHHH. :( Now after coming back from the synagogue again, with all of the work completely done I can’t get back to sleep. I have another night shift tonight and I wanted to sleep until at least three o’clock this afternoon. Fuck, fuck, fuck.

Since I’m in a complaint mood today, please feel free to read more about my week and how crappy it’s been.

Hmm, perhaps I should become a musician first, then a singer …

Akasha on Mar 23rd 2004

On the way home I was listening to a couple of songs off of 60 Second’s to Mars only CD. If you don’t remember who 60 Seconds are you’re probably not alone. It was Jared “Angel Face” Leto’s band back in 2001(?). The songs weren’t bad. I actually liked them a lot when they first came out with the CD. Not enough to buy it mind you, but I still enjoyed it :D

That got me thinking, why do actors think they can make it as legitimate singers/musicians? I suppose they see how effortlessly (some) musicians transition from MTV to the silver screen so they assume the reverse can be done as well, but when you think about it it really can’t.

A part from Jared Leto’s failed attempt there are more than a few that I can think of. Dogstar panned out for Keanu, Billy Bob Thorton’s weird hillbilly music isn’t exactly winning them over in spades and can ANYONE ever forget Bruce Willis as a blues-driven rocker in the early 90s (Return of Bruno, I believe his CD was called)? Man, actors can’t sing.

New layout everyone :P I’ve forgotten to change the title on the browser so you’ll just have to bare with that for awhile longer. Until I can get my ass bothered to do it anyway :D Those of you who have emailed me (there are a couple) please be patient. I’m such a bad corresponder. I’ll reply soon.

Why can’t it be summer already?

Akasha on Mar 22nd 2004

God I miss not having to wake up anytime soon. I have to go to class tomorrow and I’m not really in the mood to go. I missed an online quiz for my marketing class and that mark is starting to get lower and lower which I’m loathing to admit. I’m going to have to work my ass off to get it back up or else I’m going to hurt myself for being so stupid :(

My friend is going to see Steve-o live in person next Sunday night. For those not in the know, Steve-o is from Jackass :D For those who are further not in the know, I LOVE Jackass. So ya, I’m wildly jealous cause obviously I’d be going too if it weren’t a 19+ show. I could try and get in hoping they won’t card me but of course if they do I’m out the thirty bucks it costs for the ticket. Fuck ya.

I hate being born in November.

On Friday, while I was at work some Random Guy asked me to geuss his weight. I was only 5 pounds off; I guessed he weighed 185 and he weighed 190. Sweet.

You’re Outta Here

Akasha on Mar 20th 2004

I deleted some empty hostee folders today. If one of them was yours, give me a shout and I’ll let you know why. Most were bordering on being dusty for a month now. I figured you either forgot that Amber had given you space or you no longer need it. For all other hostees, please don’t be worried :) I don’t delete things without giving fair warning. These empty folders have been sitting for awhile.

Tylenol Cold & Sinus can’t help me now

Akasha on Mar 17th 2004

I’m sick. With an awful cold that I most likely caught from sleeping on the cement at the Skydome. See, taking chances has its reprecussions, it makes you sick as a dog! The reason I’m blogging at midnight, though, is cause I slept for about five hours in the afternoon and now I’m pretty much wide awake, although I could probably fall right back to sleep if I tried; which I will, in a bit.

The worst thing about being sick and being in class is that the seconds seem to drag on forever. I think everyone knows what I’m talking about. :( You want to hurt the prof and everyone within a mile radius of you if you think you can get home quicker to bed. I had to wait in the cold for my mom to pick me up from the bus stop as well and that wasn’t fun either. Hamilton got hit with a snowstorm today and it would have been fine if the snow just fell nicely only it was coupled with a super strong wind that felt like it was biting my ass as I huddled in a phone booth waiting for her. Oi. Today was crap.

On the plus side, I watched Nurse Betty tonight. Reese Witherspoon plays a woman who witnesses the murder of her sleazy husband by a couple of hitmen (Chris Rock & Morgan Freeman); the shock of the ordeal puts her into this sort of trance and she begins to believe that she was once engaged to her favourite character on a soap opera she watches religiously. She travels to LA to find this guy (Greg Kinnear) and he thinks she’s just a really great method actress so he puts her on the set of show thinking she’ll boost ratings; that’s when she finally snaps back to life. Rock and Freeman are after her this entire time and while in the process of finding her, Freeman begins to fall in love with the description he’s given of her and a handful of photographs of her.

It’s a bit of a weird story, but I enjoyed it cause in the end she realizes she doesn’t need to have a man in her life (the doctor from the soap or her dead husband) to live happily. She ends up appearing on the soap opera, as an actor, and she uses the money she gets from the job to go to nursing college and visit Europe (that’s my favourite part, cause she goes to Italy :D).

Anyway, my head hurts. I’m going to bed. Goodnight all!
