A little down today

Akasha on Feb 28th 2005

I am so bloody tired. It’s not unusual though, since it’s ten to two in the morning, I’ve worked for five hours in HELL and I’ve been staring at this screen for the better part of two and a half hours. :/ Life is teh suck.

Well, no it’s not. I’m learning my new duties at TFL, it’s kinda daunting cause I’ve never done this stuff before and each time I click on something I’m praying that I’m not fucking up some how. I’m worried I’ll get fired for doing some stupid, random mistakes, over and over again. Haha, this is a strictly volunteer position and I’m nervous that I’ll get fired. How sad, n’est pas?

Plus, I’m a little down cause I didn’t get the approval for John Constantine. It sorta makes me hope that I’m getting the movie fanlist, but if I don’t, I’m really, really gonna be sad :( ‘Course, I should just suck it up, it’s only a fanlisting, after all. Who really cares, right? Well, a little part of me does :P

In other FL news, I was approved for David Cross, royal scandals (haha), Paint Shop Pro in adoptions, and the Nazgul (aka Ringwraiths). David Cross is almost done, I haven’t even touched the others though. I seriously need to stop applying and finish these bloody things cause I have other things on my plate (like school, for example). Tomorrow I am off to the library. I need to do some Serious Research for my essays. I also have on more midterm next week. Why so late? No fucking clue. In any event, one more month of school, four exams and then I’m done, bitches! For four months, that is :/ Still, that’ll be four nice months :D

Oh and if you’re wondering what the hell is up with the comments page, I have no clue, whatsoever. I still have to figure that out. Just haven’t had the time nor the energy to do so :P

Two new fanlistings + a big announcement

Akasha on Feb 23rd 2005

Now to some who come here, this may sound like not special news at all, but I’ve become a staff member at The Fanlistings! I’m the applications/finished/moved/closed staffer, to be exact, and I’m more than tickled pink about it. :D

I’m halfway through my Reading week, having not done all that much reading to be honest. I have been catching up on sleep, though, which is beyond awesome. I’ve also been catching up on all of the upcoming fanlistings I’ve managed to garner over the past week or so.

The Shadow of the Vampire fanlisting

The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Suess fanlisting

I have two more that are almost done - only need the members because they are both adopted - and then I’ll have only two left on upcoming, penises (yes, the cock.) and David Cross. Okay, so that’s enough fanlisting talk.

On a totally unrelated note, I bought a sweatshirt today that says, ‘Kiss me, I’m Irish’ across the front. I’m anticipating lots of smooches come St. Paddy’s Day ;) And before you ask, no I’m not Irish. Not even remotely Irish. What? Is there a problem?

For my dear Alex …

Akasha on Feb 17th 2005

This is for the dear Alex, who visits daily, she says :) It makes my heart all warm and fuzzy to hear it, m’dear, so here ya go ;)

I’m entrenched in midterms at the moment. Technically, I’m supposed to be studying right now, but instead I am here, on the tenth floor of the library, using a computer with a bolted down chair (I smushed my hand in between the seat and the skeleton of the chair, if you can believe that, when I stupidly tried to move forward. It bothers me that I can’t :() typing up a blog.

Tomorrow I have two midterms, one right after the other and then it’s the Glorious Reading Week. Fun! I can’t wait to not have to worry about anything, although in reality I probably should worry. A lot. Cause soon after my essays will be due and they aren’t anything to sneeze at. Especially for Kislenko’s classes.

For those who don’t (or can’t) read my LJ, Kislenko is my Espionage/Global Studies prof. I fell in love with him so I decided to take more than one of his classes. He’s notoriously difficult though. Arrogant, prideful and a hell of a teacher. He’s fantastic to listen to and I absolutely love both his classes. Unfortunately, he thought he’d be smart and schedule his exams and his essays all on the same days for his courses (that is, the exams are both on the same day and the essays are both on the same day, not everything at once. My head would implode if that were the case). I still love him though.

Speaking of Kislenko, though, we got a lovely surprise today while he was lecturing on the beginnings of World War II. His nephew barged into the class - a little sprite of a boy, probably around 9 or 10 - and demanded to know if this was the calculus class. Or something mathematical. I was all like huh? But Kislenko told him to take a seat! The kid comes around to the front and I turn around to see several people come in, all wearing birthday hats, the kind you buy at the dollar store with the snappy chin-strap and everything.

Kislenko blanches. It’s his family! His two sisters and their husbands (plus, the nephew) invaded our classroom with a birthday surprise for him, complete with a donut sporting a candle and a picture collage of Arne (Kislenko) as a baby, a teenager and a young adult. It was awesome. We sang happy birthday, they gave us a pop quiz about his life and we all signed his collage. He wanted to kill everyone, I think. Arne’s the kind of guy who is very private, I think. He’s a joker, but a private kind of guy.

He makes me want to have an affair with him. Hah. When I realized neither of the two women were his girlfriend or wife my heart soared. Leah, he’s another Pags! Only he’s unmarried! And well-travelled! I want him so badly! Haha.

By now, Alex is most likely mortified. Or have I already told you that he’s my boyfriend? ;)

I want to go home and get today over with. I’m nervous about the Espionage exam because I came in late for that class, but not so much for the Global Studies. In any event, it’s history, so it only really needs regurgitation of information.

That was a mouthful ;) Anyway, must go. I hope everyone is doing well. I feel the itch for a new layout. I think I’m gonna finally bite the bisquit and skin this bloody thing, now that I have conquered that feat! Ta for now!

Nothing to see here, folks.

Akasha on Feb 1st 2005

My my, it’s been awhile since I updated here, hasn’t it? Apart from a whole lot of nothing, my life has been steadily going by. I have opened up several more fanlistings. In case you’re wondering, here they are:

A Rush of Blood to the Head album fanlisting

the Matt Good fanlisting

the Get Fuzzy fanlisting

Okay, so that was only a few, but it seemed like quite a few had opened up … In any case, I’ll be opening the Middle Earth fanlisting very soon, as soon as I get the members list from Sara, the original owner. I can’t wait to get this fanlisting opened. I skinned it like I did the accents fanlisting, which reminds me! Go visit the accents fanlisting because there are three layouts to choose from now instead of just one :) I hope to make more eventually as well, as soon as the mood strikes me, of course :P

Other than that, my life is boring. Really. School, driving lessons (occasionally), sleeping and fanlistings. How exciting, huh?
