As If I Need More Reasons To Stop Drinking Soda

Diet Coke LoveShen at paintmythoughts.org reminded me of this really interesting article on what happens to your body when you drink a can or bottle of Coke. I’m addicted to Diet Coke. While the amount I drink now is nothing compared to the litres I guzzzled as a drive-thru wench at McDonalds, it’s still a lot more than I want to. All of the sugar is replaced with aspartame, a chemical that I know very little about but is linked to such lovely conditions as brain tumors, brain lesions, and lymphoma. Woohoo! I’ll take a Big Mac, Diet Coke and some brain lesions to go, please!

Do you know how I know it’s an addiction? Because every time I want a Diet Coke, I crave it. My mouth begins to water and I start to get edgy and annoyed until the moment I have it and I can actually feel the bubbles burst in my mouth. Water doesn’t do that.

At least there’s someone with me. =D It’s an irresistible temptation. Right now I’m having a coke. Ugh. I just wish I can stop but I can’t.

Great. You’ve now made me want Diet Coke! GAH!

That’s why I quit drinking coke like years ago. I hardly will ever drink coke unless if it’s my last resort, and there’s no water in sight. Next target; to curb ice tea and sprite or 7-up. Now THOSE are addictive… lol

Whoa, that article really scares me. I love diet coke and regular coke. I drink a little bit of each. I work at a restaurant and so they are both at my fingertips. Ugh. This sucks. But I am WAAAAAY more addicted to Dr. Pepper. That is my real weakness. I drink A LOT of it and it scares me. Ah. I really need to stop. I see that you are giving up the Diet Coke fanlisting to try and further yourself away from it. Good for you LOL :)

Oh and because I have been so out of the internet work for the past month and a half, I don’t know how long you have had this layout…but I really like it. It’s so simple and great at the same time! :D

I don’t drink much soda. I don’t know why I’ve never really craved the stuff, really; I’ve just always been one of those weird people who loves water. :P

All the same, I can’t go near aspartame. I have a terrible migraine condition and aspartame will bring on one of my attacks. Ugh. Not fun. :(
