New fanlisting!

Akasha on Sep 30th 2004

Eek, should be writing up my proposal, but I’m not! I was too interested in finishing my Hawksley Workman fanlisting:

Go Join!

It’s been an uneventful day. The worst part has been having to stand in line waiting for a guy to finish photocopying an entire textbook. He was such a pain in my ass :(

Agent Smith & Lewis Black

Akasha on Aug 27th 2004

New layout over at the Agent Smith fanlisting. I was listening to Lewis Black’s ‘Rules of Engagement’ album while making it; the man is incredibly caustic and funny. My mother, who came in every now and then to check her email and whatever, kept asking me why I was listening to such a foul-mouthed person. I can’t help it, he’s too funny.

I really want to go see him live at the Winter Garden theatre on September 30th. I have no one to go with, unfortunately. Tatjana says I should just go alone; she went to see Steve-O by herself, after all. I think that’s what I’ll end up doing, even if it’ll be just to show her I can. I’ll enjoy myself, with or without anyone there, but I’ll still feel funny going alone.

Ray Charles & Ronald Reagan may be dead, but I am happy today!

Akasha on Jun 12th 2004

You know, life can sometimes throw you a curveball. It hits you, you fall flat on your face and you sit there dumbly for a minute wondering just what the hell happened. I’m not talking about anything really substantial, but I’m sure that analogy can be applied to pretty much anything. A few days ago I received the rejection letter from the fanlisting network regarding my application for the Matrix fanlisting. Many of my close personal friends know that the Matrix is my all-time #1 favourite movie. Ever. I mean, ever. Movies come and go, but the Matrix will always be there for me. So I was of course crushed when I found Hoppy had chosen someone else to build the fanlisting, especially because I thought for sure my application would have convinced her. Of course, it honestly didn’t but whatever.

Right now it’s 6:24 in the morning. I just checked my email and found something incredibly wonderful, though. A few days ago, as well, the current owner of the Mr. Smith fanlisting decided to offer it up for adoption. I being crushed by the letdown of not getting the Matrix of course sent her an email. I found out that she chose me to be the new owner just a few minutes ago and it’s like a ray of sunshine on my weary back. I’m weary because of work, by the way. Don’t forget I just got home from a night shift :)

There are things in life that seem trivial to others. You who are reading this right now may not be interested in fanlistings, may not even know what a fanlisting is (they’re addictive, believe me!). To me, they are a great hobby. I don’t have many in my life. Since I began designing web sites two and a half years ago, well there really hasn’t been anything else that has caught my fancy. So, in this incredibly long-winded post I believe I am trying to make a point. The point is, just because there are momentary setbacks in life - whether it is in regards to a fanlisting, a bank loan, a lover or whatever else - things will always come back up again.

I suppose this is just the eternal optimist in me rushing out and greeting you in the morning. I’m off to start that fanlisting now, though :)

Bored, bored, ouch!

Akasha on May 11th 2004

To relieve some of my boredom I’ve started doing pilates; man, when people say they are hard, they really don’t quite cover it! Pilates is difficult, lol. Hopefully, it’ll help me out a bit since I’ve been feeling kinda blah lately and I have a wedding to go to in July.

I just adopted the Victoria Beckham (nee Adams) fanlisting; there’s over 700 fans and if you’re not on the list you should be. There was over a 1,000 but I weeded out all of the old email addresses that no longer work. I really love the layout as well cause she’s so pretty in her wedding photos. Damn her for having David Beckham, that man is a god.

:doze: Wow, what a lazy night. It’s been gorgeous the past two days but super hot so I’ve been kinda weary about going out. I hate, hate, hate feeling hot and sticky.
